Privacy Policy
Last updated: Oct 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information PingTrail ("we", "us") collects when you use our uptime and heartbeat monitoring service (the "Service"), why we collect it, and the choices you have.
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information — your name, email address, and password or passkey credential used to sign in.
Monitor configuration — the URLs, hostnames, and heartbeat schedules you choose to monitor, along with check intervals, notification preferences, and group settings.
Check results — response times, status codes, TLS certificate metadata, and error messages produced when a probe checks a monitor.
Notification channel details — the email addresses or webhook URLs you configure to receive alerts.
Technical information — IP address, browser type, and session cookies used to keep you signed in and to protect your account.
To run the checks you configure and determine whether a monitor is up, down, or degraded.
To send the notifications you request, such as incident emails or outgoing webhooks.
To generate the public status pages, Atom feeds, and uptime badges you choose to publish.
To secure your account, including fraud prevention, abuse detection, and two-factor or passkey authentication.
To maintain and improve the reliability of the Service.
If you create a public status page for a monitor group, the monitor names, current status, and historical uptime you choose to display will be visible to anyone with the link, including through its Atom feed and status badge. Do not publish a status page for monitors whose names or configuration should remain private.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a CSRF cookie to protect forms from cross-site request forgery. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We retain account and monitor configuration data for as long as your account is active. Check results are aggregated into daily uptime summaries over time, and raw check history is retained only for as long as needed to power incident insights and status pages.
You can access, export, or delete your monitors and account data at any time from your account settings. To request a full export or deletion of your account, contact us using the details below.
The Service is intended for business and technical use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and significant changes will be announced through the Service.
